We love Alnwick garden*. There is always a lot going on for the whole family and you can easily spend a full day here. Take a look at
last year's blogpost which goes into more detail about some of the other fun you can have in the garden. Today we had one mission only, and that was
to get wet! We packed a picnic, our towels and a spare pair of clothes and set off to enjoy the Splash! event that is taking place at the garden every day until 31st August. After a lovely picnic on the lawn (and a visit from some friendly ducks) we started the day exploring the serpent garden which is an interactive water garden full of surprises.
Then we heard the call that the water fight was about to start so took our places along the wall to join in. Water fight's take place every hour. Water guns are provided but you definitely need to bring spare clothes and a towel.
The kids had a blast and found the wristbands they were awarded for their efforts highly amusing!

If all of this high energy water fun isn't your cup of tea, there are many tranquil areas of the garden where you can relax.
A visit to Alnwick garden is not complete without a trip to the treehouse. We popped in on our way back to the car park and it turns out that running along rope bridges is the perfect way to dry your hair.
Splash! is just one of the many fantastic events that happen throughout the year at Alnwick garden. Check out their website for more information and up to date admission costs.
