Firstly, the salon is very easy to find with free parking outside and it is serviced by local buses. As I entered Sammy Anne's I received a very warm welcome (which is so often not the case in salon's). Sammy is lovely, down-to-earth and immediately puts you at ease. We completed a short questionnaire together and she asked about my lifestyle and what I was hoping to gain from the experience (I wanted to relax)! After a quick skin analysis Sammy hand picked a selection of products that were perfectly suited to my skin type.
Sammy uses Aromatika products which are aromatherapy based. They are organic, natural and not tested on animals. Sammy is passionate about her product's and explained the benefit's of using natural products over synthetic ones. The products smell and feel absolutely amazing and are very luxurious. I am a definite convert to aromatika.
The treatment room at Sammy Anne's is warm and relaxing with soothing music being played, aromatherapy candles burning, dim lighting and warm fleecy blankets. After 5-10 minutes I started to feel as if I was back in Marrakech and like I could be a million miles away from our North Tyneside location. The little touches allowed pure escapism from every day life which was just what I needed.
We started with one of the best back massage's I have ever received. Sammy check's your posture is correct and uses soft support's if necessary before beginning your treatment. She will check throughout that the pressure is correct and it is up to you whether you talk or not. For me, I just like to close my eyes and relax. The massage seemed to last forever and it ended with warm towels being placed over my back which felt amazing.
That was just the start of my pampering, next up was a luxury facial. During this 1 hour treatment my skin was thoroughly cleansed, exfoliated and massaged using the gorgeous aromatika products. Between each step, skin is refreshed with warm towels and cooling eye pads. The treatment feels really indulgent. A skin-specific mask is then applied and then you receive a lovely head and arm massage while the mask works it's magic. I have received treatments in 5* hotels before and a lot of the time the therapist's will leave the room at this stage. Not at Sammy Anne's - she really wants to help you relax as best you can.
My treatment ended with an intensive moisturiser and eye cream being applied before I was again wrapped in warm blankets, given a glass of water and encouraged to relax. My treatment lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes but it was so indulgent and relaxing that I felt like I had left the real world for days.
We finished with a consultation where Sammy identified area's in my back that needed work and gave me lot's of tips to reduce stress and the importance of having some me-time (even if it is just a warm bath for 20 minutes).
Sammy is without doubt one of the best therapist's I have ever encountered. She own's her own business and it is her passion rather than just her job. She really does care about the customer experience being nothing but perfect. She will put you at ease and help you relax and switch off from the world.
If you are looking for a gift to buy a busy mum this Christmas, why not purchase a Sammy Anne's gift voucher? From now until Christmas you can buy a voucher for a luxury facial for £35 and the client will receive a complimentary back massage when they redeem their voucher. I really could not recommend this treatment enough for people who need a little 'me-time'.
Sammy Anne's is a few door's away from The Treehouse softplay. If you are looking for THE BEST present money could buy for a mum this year, why not offer to take the kids to softplay while they enjoy some pampering at Sammy Anne's.
Photograph's and a complimentary treatment were kindly provided by Sammy Anne's. All views are my own.
Samantha went to Sammy Anne's?! Perfect!! This looks amazing and just what I could do with too - I haven't had any sort of treatment (not even a hair cut) for months and months!! My aim is to get a massage every 6 weeks. Pah! But it's so important to take that step back, what's an hour here and there? I feel so much better for it (you've inspired me!)
