1 - Join an off-road Quad bike tour in Portugal
We last traveled to the Algarve when Harry was just 3 years old and think that Portugal is such a beautiful country. We'd definitely love to return. What better way to see the island than with an off road bike tour. Companies such as Quad Bike Hire will take you on a guided tour off the beaten track to give you a real taste of the Algarve. Children aged 7+ are welcome to join their grown ups. Check out this video below. It looks exhilarating!
2 - Learn how to surf in Santander
The Escuela Cantabra de Surf in Spain is renowned as being one of the best surf schools in Europe. With over 35 years worth of experience, they run classes on every single day of the year. Suitable for all levels from aged 6+, I can't think of anywhere better to learn this skill with the family.
3 - Hike the Caledonia Falls in Cyprus
You'll find Caledonia Falls at one of the highest points in Cyprus. Surrounded by forest, they're a popular place to hide away from the hot summer sun. The route should take 1-2 hours and is suitable for older children, teens and adults of most fitness levels - just make sure you wear decent walking shoes.
4 - Try River tubing in Croatia
How cool does River tubing down the crystal green waters of the river Cetina sound? Suitable for ages 8+ I know that this is something we would all LOVE to try out. There is a nice mix of relaxing floating across the quiet parts of the river and taking in the scenery to heading down small rapids which I'm sure will be lots of fun (and perfect for taking the go-pro along I bet).
Let me know if you've tried any thrill seeking adventures in Europe with your family and have any ideas to add to my list.
