We love Whitehouse Farm and have visited every year for the past 15 years. It's conveniently located (just off A1 near Morpeth) and there is always so much to do whatever the weather. Whitehouse Farm is 100% one of the best family days out in North East England.
This year, Whitehouse Farm has lots of new additions and a day out here offers even more value for money. We visited over Easter 2019 and had the best time. I would even go as far as to say it was our best ever visit. I'm going to share some of the new activities and adventures you can expect from Whitehouse Farm this year. Everything mentioned (except Build-A-Bear and the cafe) is included with admission so you don't feel like you are constantly putting your hand in your pocket which I think is pretty rare for a day out. We spent 6 hours there but could definitely have spent all day here.
The new outdoor play area is honestly epic! Located near the outdoor paddocks and goats, it's brand new for 2019 and what I love is that there is something for all ages and abilities. Everything is of exceptional quality and it feels like no expense has been spared. There's plenty of seating for grown-ups too.

There are diggers to play with, zip wires, accessible roundabouts, tunnels to climb through, HUGE slides, climbing frames, see-saws, tractor slides - all sorts. Something for all ages and abilities and I had to actually drag Jack away from here kicking and screaming because he just didn't want to leave. It's such a lovely addition to the farm and I imagine we could spend a full afternoon in this section alone in the summer. This particular area of the farm is pretty sheltered so didn't feel as chilly as other parts. I'll let the pictures do the talking!
New Bouncy Cushions
There are also two huge bouncy cushions near the trampolines and Birds of Prey area. My three absolutely loved it here and ran between the trampolines, bouncy cushions and bouncy slide for ages. I'd recommend wearing wellies or shoes which are very easy to get on and off (no laces) as kids will want to run around on the grass between the different inflatables. Jack adored the inflatable slide and was over the moon that he could go on as many times as he wanted. Normally we pay around £3 for 5 goes at fairgrounds and he kept running over to me and asking if he could have another 5 turns. He couldn't quite grasp he could go on as much as he wanted. This is a good area for grown-ups to grab a coffee and again, there's lots of seating provided. We loved the cushions and they're definitely a welcome addition. There are smaller bouncy castles for little ones too and again, all included with admission.
New Build-A-Teddy
Throughout the Easter Holidays, you can add on a Build-A-Teddy ticket to your entrance fee. This does make it an expensive day out and wouldn't be something I'd do on a normal day out BUT if it was a birthday treat or the kids want to buy something extra with their birthday money, it is a lovely experience. Despite all of the non-stop fun the kids had at Whitehouse Farm, when I asked them all what their favourite part was, they all said it was this. Tickets for the Build-A-Teddy experience are currently £19.99 per child including farm admission (pre-book online here) or you can buy on the day for an additional £12.50 (subject to availability). The staff here are lovely and the kids really enjoyed picking our their own special teddy bear, stuffing it (and checking with the cuddle test it was at the right level), picking a heart and making a wish then creating a birth certificate. We ended up with a bunny rabbit, a sheep called Paul and a bear called Ham. I'd recommend booking a time slot for this experience at the end of the day and doing this instead of buying something from the gift shop as it is a lovely momento plus if you do it at the end of the day, you don't have to carry the teddy around with you all day.
As soon as we entered Whitehouse Farm we spotted a brand new castle. It's not quite ready yet but it looks like this is going to be a pretty epic slide once complete. The kids can't wait to give it a go.
As well as the new features, there is all of the regular fun included as part of your day out too. I don't think I'm imagining it when I say the activity schedule is even more jam-packed than ever before and we didn't manage to see and do everything in one day. Highlights for us include small animal petting, creepy critters handling, animal feeding, Meerkat talks, Go-Karts, Birds of Prey experience, a tractor ride around the farm and the original outdoor play area and soft play too. Over Easter, there are magic shows, Easter games and you can bottle-feed lambs too.
Whitehouse Farm run fantastic events throughout the year. As well as their Easter Eggstravaganza over the holidays, there's a Magical Unicorn Weekend on the 4th , 5th and 6th May and a National Circus Festival on 5th and 6th June plus Autism Hour, Mini Keepers Sessions and Mini Farmers Sessions too.

Cafe and Picnic Areas
The only problem with the new additions at Whitehouse Farm is that you are really spoilt for choice and the kids won't want to leave. For the price, I still think they offer one of the best value days out in the North East. If you pre-book tickets online, you can save a little bit too.

Whitehouse Farm isn't just an option for a sunny day either, there's loads to see and do when the weather's not so great (check out this post for more info) and they run fantastic birthday parties too.
Phew I'm exhausted writing this post and exhausted from our day out but we had the best day. I suspect it will be one of our favourite days of the whole holidays. With so much included with admission, the option to bring your own picnic and LOADS to do, Whitehouse Farm offers exceptional value for money in my opinion. It's also the kind of day out which is fun for all ages from babies up to grandparents.

Pin Me For Later
We took Simon's nice and nephew to Whitehouse Farm when they visited last Summer and I was absolutely blown away by how amazing it was! There's just so much to do there, I was so so thankful to them for making us look like really cool Aunt and Uncle for planning such a great day trip - apparently the kids were going on and on about it for months after! They're back again this Summer so the pressure is on!
