I am delighted to share with you a brand new theatrical production aimed at children aged 7+ and their families (all ages are welcome) which will be touring North East England this February Half Term.
Rose and Robin is brought to you by Mad Alice Theatre, has been funded by the Arts Council and commissioned by Queen's Hall Arts. The show is fun, friendly and a real celebration of life and adventures.
I love that the venues chosen for this tour are at the heart of communities and that ticket prices are very reasonable. If you didn't catch the tour over October Half Term 2019, the show is resuming their tour across February Half Term 2020.
Rose and Robin - The Story
This lovely new play tells the story of two people - Rose and Robin. They've shared their life together from childhood to old age - the ups and downs, adventures, touching moments and memories. And now they want to share their story with you. Check out the Youtube trailer below to get an idea of what to expect.
Rose and Robin is a real celebration of life and a wonderful production for the whole family - bring the grandparents, meet up with friends, bring your neighbour - it's set to be a lovely uplifting production which is perfect for sharing with loved ones.
Expect lots of laughs, a little silliness, fantastic music, dance plus physical sketches & comedy. Rose and Robin promises to be lots of fun yet poignant at the same time. The sentiment behind the story kind of reminds me of Up (one of my all-time favourite films).
I often think that going to the theatre is seen as something only Middle-Class families do and is quite 'posh'. It's not and I hope that *some* of the work I do on this blog helps to show this. I love that a production like Rose and Robin is helping to break down those boundaries and is inclusive to all budgets.
I also love that it is showing and some of the North East's best community venues as well as traditional theatres.
The show lasts 50 minutes and is best suited to children aged 7-11 and their families - all ages are welcome though and you're welcome to bring younger members of your family who will still enjoy the show.
