I will start this post by saying that we all have our own levels of what we are comfortable doing right now. For me, we are staying at home and isolating as much as we can from now until Christmas as we plan on mixing with another household but I know many are sticking with their own households over the festive period and are looking for places they can visit over the festive period. Every family is different.
A few things have caught my eye in Ouseburn this weekend and I thought I would support my favourite area of Newcastle with a little shout-out. Please stay safe and respect social distancing and Government guidelines. Also, please double check details direct with event hosts before setting out as things can change fairly quickly. Urgh I am sick of writing these disclaimers on every post now. When will it end!
Ouseburn Christmas Market
Ouseburn is hosting a small outdoor Christmas Market on Lime Street under Byker Bridge from 10am-4pm on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December this year. Expect up to 20 stalls from local businesses. Here is the official event info.

Seven Stories Themed Afternoon Tea (Click & Collect)
Seven Stories is offering a range of themed afternoon teas to collect and enjoy at home which can be ordered in advance. They look lovely and are reasonably priced too (less than a tenner each) plus there are smaller options for children. There is the option to add on a reading book too which is a lovely idea to make it a little more special. You usually need to order 48 hours before collection time. Options include:

Seven Stories Bookshop
The Seven Stories Bookshop is open from 11am - 4pm Thursday-Sunday with lots of festive book displays available to enjoy. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for details of special visitors or extra activities taking place (previous visitors include Santa, elves and the chance to write a letter to Santa).

Cook House Gifts
The Cook House is open on this Saturday only before closing until the restaurant can re-open. Pop in for festive hampers, homemade foodie gifts, hot drinks and festive pasties. Find out more here.
Di Meos Riverside Festive Ice Cream & Italian Treats
Di Meos Riverside will be selling a lovely selection of Italian food from their shop including Panettone gelato and amaretto infused chocolate fondants which both sound delicious. Find out more here.

Winter Exhibition at The Biscuit Factory
Galleries may be closed at the moment but The Biscuit Factory is able to open as they are a shop. They currently have a Winter Exhibition on display which is free to visit if you need your art fix. Find out more here.
Where to Park
We always park at Foundry Lane Car Park as it is nice and central (between the Cook House and Seven Stories). There are 57 spaces, it costs 40p per hour during peak times and has a 4 hour parking limit. Use postcode NE6 1LH. You can find other parking options (including free options) here.
Ouseburn is lovely for a little walk as there is so much street art and a surprise around every corner. This is our favourite piece (not far from Di Meos):
