50+ Baby, Toddler & Pre-School Classes Across North East England

A question I am asked a lot is if I know of any baby/toddler/pre-school classes so I thought I would ask followers for their recommendations and pop them altogether in a post. Information is correct as of April 2021. At time of publishing, not all of these classes will be fully running but do keep an eye on their social media / sign up to their mailing lists for updates.

If you would like to recommend a class to add to this list, please email sam@northeastfamilyfun.co.uk with the details. There may be a slight crossover in some of the areas the classes take place - I have tried to go off their main areas.

I purposely have not added dates/ prices etc.... as these constantly change and it would be impossible to keep this post up to date. Instead I have included Facebook links where you should be able to find up to date information and contact details to ask class organisers any questions you may have.

During the sessions the children will take part in age appropriate hands on experiments, learning and messy play which will be in keeping with the weekly theme.

At Fun Little Foodies we are passionate about getting kids involved in food and cooking. We offer cooking classes for children aged 2.5 to 5 years across the North East. Each class is hands on, interesting and FUN!

Your child will learn cooking skills and an enjoyment of nutritious, delicious food. They will taste and explore different food types and learn about where different foods come from. Each class will also include an activity linked to the recipe, and classes incorporate skills and objectives from all of the areas in the EYFS curriculum!

We know from first hand experience how tricky it can be to get children to try new food and combat those fussy eating habits! Children are more likely to eat food they have prepared themselves in a sociable environment and once they have made it with their foodie friends they will get the recipe card to take home to recreate it for their family and friends!

Little Lights meets every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9.30-11.30. We welcome all families or carers and children, whatever their faith or none into this safe and comfortable environment which gives parents a chance to catch up together while children play in a structured, well resourced and attractive area inside our fabulous church building.

The sessions are supervised by fully trained and qualified DBS checked staff who are also members of the church community. Most of us are parents or grandparents ourselves so we can be a reassuring ear for people with newborn babies who want to share their concerns or just chat about their week.

Little Lights was founded seven years ago as an expression of the church’s commitment to everyone in the community.
