Today I would love to recommend the Seaview Restaurant at The Fishing Boat Inn, Boulmer. Boulmer is a small fishing village in Northumberland. There is literally nothing there except for the beach, The Fishing Boat Inn, RAF Boulmer and a few holiday cottages. That is definitely part of its charm though.
The Fishing Boat Inn is a traditional pub & seafood restaurant which also provides holiday accommodation. Check out their website for photos and more info. We would love to stay there one day - some of the rooms have a balcony overlooking the beach which look perfect.
We booked a table ahead (give them a call on 01665 577750) for lunch on a sunny Tuesday. There is a free car park on site or free parking along the road and a beach car park a little further along. I don't imagine you'd struggle to get parked here. There is also a bus stop right outside of the Fishing Boat Inn.

COVID procedures were good with tables being sanitised between customers, single use menus and staff wearing face coverings. A few people commented last year that the tables were too close together but I didn't feel this and the way they were positioned meant you weren't directly facing another table if that makes sense.

We decided to go with the sharing platter which was a bargain at £30. Service was super friendly and our food arrived promptly. Everything was so delicious and we really felt as if we were living the dream. The only thing that could have made it better was if I could have enjoyed a bottle of wine alongside, but sadly, I needed to drive later that day so it wasn't meant to be. A good reason to return though! The star of the show for us was the Tempura Prawns - they were huge! I also really enjoyed the Smoked Salmon which was plentiful.

I also have to give a special shout out to the chips which were so good! Proper chips and there were lots of them too.
Or if you fancy something a little more traditional, you can pop into the pub to the rear of the restaurant.
You can stay overnight too, the rooms look directly out over the beach and are just stunning! I am going to make it my mission to stay there at some point this year.
Afterwards, a walk along Boulmer Beach is highly recommended. We practically had it to ourselves and it's just gorgeous.
