There is lots for Redcar and Cleveland families to look forward to across the region this festive season. However this post is going to focus on the big Redcar Light Switch On & Illumination Parade which is free for Redcar & Cleveland families to enjoy with no booking required. Simply turn up on 28 November. The festivities will begin at 4:30pm and this post will share a little of what to expect.......

The Redcar Christmas Light Switch On & Illumination Parade takes place in Redcar Town Centre from 4:30pm - 6:45pm on Sunday 28th November 2021. As mentioned, no tickets are needed, simply turn up.
During the FREE Illumination Parade, Redcar & Cleveland families can enjoy:
- A Fire & Ice themed Parade along the Northern Quarter and Redcar High Street
- Local Community Groups & Schools will join the parade with their lanterns
- Professional Performers in the Parade include SPARK! Illuminated Drummers and Back Chat Brass
- Your mind will be blown by the amazing creations and visual displays by artists Mowenna Catt, Adele Catchpole, Whippet Up, Rag and Bone and Shirley Wells
- Lots of music and sparkling lights
- The parade will last 45 minutes, you can take a look at the route (and even download a copy) here

From 5:30pm, hosts Zetland FM will take over the main stage and keep us entertained with fun games, music and live music. There will also be dance performances from The Imaginarium and Urban Chaos ahead of the big switch on.
Then at 6:30pm, the Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland will lead the countdown from 10, switch on the lights and officially start the festive season.
