This post is currently being updated for 2024.
Just to let you know, the light trail at Gibside has now ended and they will be sharing a more traditional Christmas experience this year.
The Cheapest North East Light Trails
These prices are based on 2A, 2C (aged 5) booking the cheapest standard tickets including booking fees. Obviously prices can fluctuate and sometimes special discounts are offered. I have not included one off discounts / codes in in the price comparisons as these are usually only limited deals
I always think it's interesting to keep a note of previous prices so 2023 prices are noted afterwards.
- Cullercoats Advent Trail | FREE
- Sunderland Festival of Light | £23 (under 2s free)
2023 price was £11 - Plotters' Forest Enchanted Evening Trail | £30 (under 1s free)
2023 price was £24 - Alnwick Garden & Lilidorei Light Trail | £30.80 (under 5s free)
2023 price was £52.80 so this has decreased in price PLUS last year you had to pay for Lilidorei lights separately (£64) but this year Lilidorei is included. 2 for the price of 1 and a great deal compared to last year. Book a time slot for Alnwick Garden and pop into Lilidorei at your leisure from 4:30pm on the evening of your visit. - NEW FOR 2024 - Cragside Spirit of Christmas Twilight Lantern Trail
£36 (for National Trust Members) - Under 5s free - Beamish Forest of Light | £45 (under 1s free)
2023 price was £50.50 so this has decreased in price - Northern Lights Newcastle | £59.50 (under 3s are free)
2023 price was £63.23 so this has decreased slightly - AGLOW | £59.75 (under 3s are free)
2023 price was £62 so this has decreased in price - NEW FOR 2024 - The Glittering North at Raby Castle
£66 (under 3s free) - NEW FOR 2024 - Cragside Spirit of Christmas Twilight Lantern Trail
£81 (for non-National Trust Members) - Under 5s free
These light trails have no info for 2024 yet / are not going ahead this year:
- Metrocentre Winter Wonderscape | £23.60 in 2023 (under 1s free)
- Nightfall | £49 in 2023 (under 2s free)
Just to point out (as this can be confusing), if somewhere states under 5s are free, it means they are free until the day before their 5th birthday. If somewhere states children aged 4 and under are free, it also means, they are free until the day before their 5th birthday.
This free community trail takes place across advent with a new house / business 'window' adding to the display each evening. No tickets required. Follow their page for updates: https://www.facebook.com/CullercoatsCommunityAdvent
