A FREE Day Out in Ouseburn

This post was published in January 2025. Please check info with venues direct before heading out.

How to spend a FREE day in Ouseburn

1 - Visit Seven Stories, it's open daily until 5pm (closed Wednesday's in term time) and free entry. Lots of hands on fun including dress up, drawing, a puppet theatre & Gruffalo shadow puppets. You can meet Mog & the Tiger Who Came to Tea and an Elmer exhibition opens in Feb 2025.

2 - Cross over to Ouseburn Farm which is open Tues-Sun from 10am-3pm. Free entry and lots of animals to see including goats, snakes, pigs, chickens, geese, a parrot, chinchillas and more. There is a free sensory trail around the garden. Animal feed can be purchased for £2. You can watch our video tour of Ouseburn Farm here.

3 - Visit the Biscuit Factory which is free entry and open every day 10am-5pm. There's lots of fun contemporary art including a giant shimmering star and lots of animal art. Why not ask your kids to pick their favourite piece and why?

4 - Take a walk along the burn to see the ducks and swans. If you're lucky you may spot an otter!

5 - Ouseburn is known for its street art and there's always something new popping up. Take a walk around and see what you can spot. We love the Kingfisher on the Victoria Tunnel offices.
